Road Trips

A lot of Americans still describe the car as "king" and it has often been said that the best way to see the USA is by car and motorcycle because all the main areas of natural beauty are accessible by road.  There are many maps that provide suggested routes throughout the country.  The most famous route is Route 66 which was the first transcontinental highway with an all weather surface.  It is 2448 miles long and links Chicago with Los Angeles. It passes through the States of Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and finally California. sports car photo What could be better than hiring a Harley Davidson or an open top sports car and driving along this famous route.

There are many coast to coast trips which can take up to 3-4 weeks to complete as well as special interest tours requiring anywhere from 14 days to 4 weeks.

Well known scenic routes include the Arkansas Highway 7, the Oregon trail and Finger Lakes in NY state.

To find out more about these trips go to the Route 66 website and The Road Trip website.
